Model-backed end-to-end and native macOS runs have not been repeated.\n\n**Unlock the DeepSeek Harness you already installed.**\n\n[![CI](https://github.com/cyanseek/dsh-native-playbook/actions/workflows/ci.yml/badge.svg)](https://github.com/cyanseek/dsh-native-playbook/actions/workflows/ci.yml)\n[![License: MIT](https://img.shields.io/badge/license-MIT-blue.svg)](./LICENSE)\n\n> Use what DeepSeek Harness already ships before building more.\n\n`dsh-native-playbook` is a community plugin for\n[DeepSeek Harness](https://github.com/deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness), not a separate agent\nruntime. It adds one `native_capability` tool that routes a task to official DSH tools,\nchecks whether the complete capability is operational, and safely activates a reviewed\nnative path when possible.\n\n[简体中文](./README.zh-CN.md)\n\n## Quick start\n\nInstall the prebuilt GitHub package into your DSH profile:\n\n```bash\ndsh plugin --profile web add github:cyanseek/dsh-native-playbook\n```\n\n**That's it. Use DSH normally.** Ask for the outcome, not the package:\n\n```text\nRun the test suite in the background and tell me when it finishes.\nFind every reference to this symbol.\nSearch previous sessions for the deployment decision.\n```\n\nThere is no repository clone, local build, build approval, account, project API key,\nproject config file, daemon, second install, or manual verification step in this path. The\nnpm package name is reserved for a later release; until then, the GitHub command above is\nthe supported install route.\n\n## What changes for common tasks\n\n| Task | Preferred native path | Behavior |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Long-running command | `bash(run_in_background=true)` → `job_output` | Ready on supported Unix-like profiles; use `pwsh` on Windows. |\n| Symbol navigation | `lsp` | Uses LSP only with a working provider; otherwise falls back to `grep` and `glob`. |\n| Prior-session search | `session_search` | Uses the official workspace-authorized query tools. A reviewed first-use activation is available on tested DSH versions and reports when a DSH restart is required. |\n| Delegated investigation | `subagent` → `list_agents` / `send_message` | Uses DSH's built-in child-agent lifecycle. |\n| Fixed multi-step work | `workflow` | Prefers the deterministic native workflow engine over shell orchestration. |\n\nThe plugin never treats “a package exists” or “a tool name is visible” as proof that a\ncapability works.\n\n## Readiness you can trust\n\nEvery recommendation separates five lifecycle facts:\n\n| Fact | Question answered |\n| --- | --- |\n| `shipped` | Does the tested DSH catalog include it? |\n| `mounted` | Is its tool or service in the effective profile? |\n| `visible` | Can the calling Agent currently see it? |\n| `providerReady` | Are provider prerequisites actually satisfied? |\n| `operational` | Can the Agent use it now? |\n\nThe summary state is one of `ready`, `platform-dependent`, `opt-in`,\n`requires-provider`, `disabled`, or `unsupported`. Conditional changes also report their\neffect as `immediate`, `next-turn`, `new-session`, or `restart`.\n\n## Safe activation\n\nActivation is deliberately narrow:\n\n- Only reviewed recipes shipped in this repository can change a profile.\n- The active DSH version must pass an explicit compatibility gate.\n- Credentials, security policy, network providers, and arbitrary commands are outside the\n  activation surface.\n- Every change is checked against DSH and is reversible; failed verification leaves the\n  original profile in place.\n- Deactivation restores the exact saved content and refuses to overwrite later user edits.\n\nThe first Tier-1 recipe enables DSH's official, workspace-authorized session full-text\nsearch with a lazy local index. DSH `0.1.7-rc.2` is the currently verified activation\ntarget. Static lookup remains useful on other versions, while mutation is withheld.\n\n## Agent Skill\n\nThe same native-first guidance is available as an Agent Skill:\n\n```bash\nnpx skills@latest add cyanseek/dsh-native-playbook \\\n  --skill dsh-native-playbook \\\n  --agent codex \\\n  --yes\n```\n\nThe Skill is focused and loads only the reference needed for the current task.\n\n## CLI\n\nThe CLI is an advanced inspection and automation surface. Every command supports stable\nJSON output where shown:\n\n```text\ndsh-native lookup \"<task>\" [--profile <name>] [--json]\ndsh-native status --profile <name> [--json]\ndsh-native list [--profile <name>] [--json]\ndsh-native explain <capability> [--profile <name>] [--json]\ndsh-native doctor [--json]\ndsh-native install --target project|dsh [--json]\ndsh-native plan <capability> --profile <name> [--json]\ndsh-native activate <capability> --profile <name> [--json]\ndsh-native deactivate <capability> --profile <name> [--json]\ndsh-native verify <capability> --profile <name> [--json]\n```\n\nExamples from a development checkout:\n\n```bash\npnpm dsh-native lookup \"find all symbol references\" --json\npnpm dsh-native status --profile web --json\npnpm dsh-native plan session_search --profile web --json\n```\n\n## Node API\n\n```ts\nimport {\n  inspectDshProfile,\n  lookupNativeCapability,\n  planNativeActivation,\n} from 'dsh-native-playbook'\n\nconst profile = await inspectDshProfile({ profile: 'web' })\nconst result = await lookupNativeCapability('run a long test in background', { profile })\nconst plan = await planNativeActivation('session_search', { profile: 'web' })\n```\n\nThe public API also exports `listNativeCapabilities`, `explainNativeCapability`,\n`activateNativeCapability`, `deactivateNativeCapability`, and\n`verifyNativeCapability`. Public API functions never prompt.\n\n## Compatibility and privacy\n\n- Requires Node.js 22 or 24 and DeepSeek Harness.\n- Capability facts cover 66 official tools, pinned to DSH revision `477b4f420553` (September 24, 2026). The pinned default profile enables HTTP web fetching; live readiness still checks the tool, router, and provider together.\n- Static lookup works without DSH; live readiness needs an existing DSH profile.\n- No telemetry is collected.\n- No API accesses credential stores or private session contents.\n- This project is a community extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by\n  DeepSeek.\n\n## Remove\n\n```bash\ndsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-native-playbook\n```\n\n## Development\n\n```bash\ncorepack enable\npnpm install --frozen-lockfile\npnpm lint\npnpm typecheck\npnpm test\npnpm build\npnpm validate:skill\npnpm validate:plugin\npnpm validate:dsh-plugin\npnpm verify:upstream\npnpm smoke:json\npnpm smoke:consumer\npnpm metrics\n```\n\nCI runs the gates on Linux, macOS, and Windows with Node.js 22 and 24, plus a clean GitHub\nconsumer-install check.\n\nSee [CONTRIBUTING.md](./CONTRIBUTING.md), [SECURITY.md](./SECURITY.md), and\n[CHANGELOG.md](./CHANGELOG.md).\n\n## License\n\n[MIT](./LICENSE)\n"}
