It enables agents to search X/Twitter, generate images and videos, and access Grok models directly from your development environment.\n\n**Core capabilities:**\n\n- **X Search**: Use Grok subscription-backed X/Twitter search for recent social context, trends, and account activity\n- **Image generation**: Generate images through xAI with automatic local caching\n- **Video generation**: Create short videos from prompts or reference images\n- **OAuth authentication**: Secure login flow with API key fallback\n\n## Use Cases\n\n- Search recent X discussions, trends, sentiment, or account activity\n- Generate images, illustrations, creative assets, or visual references from prompts\n- Create short video assets from prompts or reference images\n- Add Grok-powered tools to Codex / Claude Code agents\n\n## What's Included\n\nThis plugin directory contains:\n\n- `.mcp.json`: MCP server registration\n- `skills/grok-tools/`: Agent guidance for when and how to use Grok tools\n- `.codex-plugin/plugin.json`: Codex plugin manifest\n- `.claude-plugin/plugin.json`: Claude Code plugin manifest\n\n## Installation\n\nOfficial marketplace: `Misty-Star/grok-it-mcp`; plugin name: `grok-it`\n\n### Install the npm CLI\n\n```bash\nnpm install -g grok-it-mcp\n```\n\n### Log in to Grok\n\n```bash\ngrok-it-mcp login --open\n```\n\n### Remote / headless sessions\n\nOn servers, containers, or SSH sessions where no browser is available, the login flow prints the authorization URL instead of opening a browser.\n\nThe loopback listener runs on the remote machine at `127.0.0.1:8153`. Flags: `--prompt`, `--model`, `--aspect-ratio`, `--resolution`, `--n <1-4>`, `--no-cache`, `--json`\n- `grok-it-mcp video-gen <prompt>` / `video_gen`: Generate video.
