A book-design skill that transforms a book manuscript into a professionally designed, magazine or guide-style interior in any trim size. Genre-matched typography. Tables, charts, infographics, pull-quotes, or callout boxes get used only where they add value or genuinely needed, everything else stays clean readable prose.
What it does
- Reads a manuscript and classifies each section: does it stay as plain text, or does it become a table, chart, infographic, pull-quote, or callout box
- Picks the right chart type (pie, bar, histogram, line, pictogram) based on what the data actually shows
- Builds to real Amazon-accepted KDP trim sizes with genre-matched typography
- Outputs a print-ready PDF plus the editable HTML/CSS source
How to use it
Read SKILL.md first. reference/build_book.py has the tested build pipeline. reference/environment_setup.md covers the one dependency you need installed (a specific PDF-rendering tool) and exactly how to set it up.
Requirements
Works with any LLM that can read files and run Python. Needs the patched wkhtmltopdf build for PDF rendering — setup instructions included.
