Turn a long video into captioned vertical clips and schedule them to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels from Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client.
ClipEmber is a hosted service, so there is nothing to install or run: this repository documents the remote MCP server and gives ready-to-copy configs.
- Endpoint:
https://clipember.com/api/mcp(streamable HTTP) - Auth: OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, or an API key in the
X-API-Keyheader - Tools: 31 (18 read-only, 13 that create or change something) — full list in TOOLS.md
- Registry:
com.clipember/clipemberin the official MCP Registry - Docs: clipember.com/mcp · step-by-step guide for Claude
What you can ask
- "Make clips from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=… — the first 20 minutes, clips under 60 seconds."
- "Is it done? Show me the clips with their scores and download links."
- "Schedule the top one to TikTok tomorrow at 6 pm."
- "Show me what Autopilot proposed today and approve the first two."
- "How many credits do I have left?"
A run usually takes about 5 minutes (median 4.6 minutes across 156 runs, 11–19 October 2026), so ask for the status again later rather than waiting in the same message.
Connect
Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop)
- Open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it
ClipEmberand usehttps://clipember.com/api/mcpas the URL. - Sign in on clipember.com and approve access. No API key is needed.
On Claude's free plan you can add one custom connector (Anthropic help).
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http clipember https://clipember.com/api/mcp
This opens a browser tab to authorize. To use an API key instead, add --header "X-API-Key: cf_your_key".
ChatGPT
Add https://clipember.com/api/mcp as a custom connector in developer mode and choose OAuth. Which plans allow custom connectors, and where the setting sits, has changed several times; check OpenAI's help center for the current path.
Other MCP clients (API key)
For clients without OAuth, create an API key in the ClipEmber dashboard and send it as a header. See examples/ for Cursor and VS Code. Field names vary slightly between clients.

Limits worth knowing
- Every clipping run uses one credit and covers a window of up to 20 minutes of the video. The free plan has 5 runs a month and its downloads carry a watermark (pricing).
- Posting and scheduling need a paid plan or the 7-day Pro trial. TikTok, YouTube and Instagram accounts are connected inside ClipEmber, not through the MCP client.
- The OAuth connection works on every plan. Issuing new API keys needs Pro or Agency, or the trial.
- Editing a clip (trimming by words, caption style) happens in the ClipEmber editor; through MCP you create runs, read results, schedule posts and review Autopilot.
- Only clip videos you have the right to use. See Is clipping legal?.
