Eight Model Context Protocol servers that give AI agents (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and any MCP-compatible client) real-world tools: screenshots-adjacent utilities, PDFs, barcodes, e-invoices, accessibility scans and more. Each server is a thin stdio client over a production REST API from Cogwork APIs — small, fast, CDN-cached endpoints with free tiers.
| Server | Tools | What it does |
|---|---|---|
mcp-server-pdf | render_pdf | Markdown/HTML → clean paginated PDF (DocForge) |
mcp-server-qr | generate_code | QR codes & barcodes: QR, EAN, UPC, Code128, DataMatrix, PDF417… (CodeKit) |
mcp-server-gs1 | gs1_parse, gs1_digital_link, gs1_barcode | GS1 Digital Link + Sunrise 2027 2D barcodes, check-digit validation (GS1Kit) |
mcp-server-a11y | accessibility_scan | WCAG 2.2 / EAA page scan — axe-core in real Chromium, score + violations + fixes (AccessKit) |
mcp-server-image | transform_image | Resize / convert / compress / watermark → WebP, AVIF, JPEG, PNG (PixForge) |
mcp-server-unfurl | unfurl_link | Link previews: title, description, image, favicon, full Open Graph/Twitter tags (LinkPeek) |
mcp-server-verify | verify_data | Validate email (live MX), IBAN, EU VAT (live VIES), phone, card (VerifyKit) |
mcp-server-einvoice | generate_einvoice, validate_einvoice | EN 16931 e-invoices: UBL, CII, Factur-X — EU mandate-ready (InvoiceForge) |
Quick start
-
Get an API key — every API has a free tier, no card needed. For PDF, subscribe on RapidAPI: PDF. For the others, request a free key by email while their RapidAPI listings are being restored: bill.omer@gmail.com (say which APIs you want — keys usually go out same-day). Product details: cogworkapi.com.
-
Install (per server):
cd mcp-server-qr && npm install -
Configure Claude Desktop (
claude_desktop_config.json):{ "mcpServers": { "codekit-qr": { "command": "node", "args": ["/path/to/cogwork-mcp-servers/mcp-server-qr/index.mjs"], "env": { "QR_API_URL": "https://codekit-qr-and-barcode-generator.p.rapidapi.com/qr", "QR_API_KEY": "YOUR_RAPIDAPI_KEY" } } } }Each server follows the same pattern with its own prefix:
Server URL env (RapidAPI base + path) Key env mcp-server-pdf PDF_API_URL→…docforge….p.rapidapi.com/pdfPDF_API_KEYmcp-server-qr QR_API_URL→…codekit….p.rapidapi.com/qrQR_API_KEYmcp-server-gs1 GS1_API_URL→…gs1kit….p.rapidapi.com/gs1GS1_API_KEYmcp-server-a11y A11Y_API_URL→…accesskit….p.rapidapi.com/a11yA11Y_API_KEYmcp-server-image IMAGE_API_URL→…pixforge….p.rapidapi.com/imageIMAGE_API_KEYmcp-server-unfurl UNFURL_API_URL→…linkpeek….p.rapidapi.com/unfurlUNFURL_API_KEYmcp-server-verify VERIFY_API_URL→…verifykit….p.rapidapi.com/verifyVERIFY_API_KEYmcp-server-einvoice EINVOICE_API_URL→…invoiceforge….p.rapidapi.com/einvoiceEINVOICE_API_KEY(Direct API-gateway URLs with an
x-api-keyalso work — the servers send both header variants.)
Why these instead of writing your own tool wrappers?
- Deterministic, agent-friendly output — JSON in, JSON (or a hosted CDN URL) out.
- Validation-first: bad inputs return clear 400s with reasons, not garbage (e.g. GS1 check-digit errors, EAN symbology mismatches, EN 16931 rule violations).
- Production infra: caching, rate limits, SSRF guards — not a weekend scraper.
- Free tiers on every API, so agents can be tried end-to-end at $0.
