Set up

Skills are installed by placing their folder where your agent loads skills.

The download comes from github.com/ananmouaz/file-issue itself, not from our server, so what you get is exactly what its author published.

Install instructions come from the README

Skills do not use an MCP config. Follow the steps in the README below.

file-issue

Interview first, file second. A Claude Code skill that turns a one-line idea into a GitHub issue an autonomous agent can build right the first time.

Most agent bugs are not coding errors. They are gaps in the ticket that the agent filled with a guess. This skill closes the gaps while they are cheap: it asks you, in rounds of at most four questions, until every acceptance criterion is observable, testable, and bounded, and every decision is either made by you or explicitly delegated. Then it shows the full body and files only after you say yes.

  • Reads the repo before it asks. Routes, screens, labels, the issue template, the agent contract. It never asks what the code already answers.
  • Asks about states, not just the happy path. Empty, loading, error, offline, back mid-flow, expired session, long content.
  • Two lists at the end of every issue. Agent decides: and Ask me first:. The builder asks on the issue instead of guessing.
  • Before and after evidence. Every visual AC requires a before and after screenshot in the PR.
  • Works from a phone. The same steps run in a chat app with a GitHub connector, one numbered round at a time.

Install

skills.sh

One command, any agent

This installs the skill into every agent skill directory it finds in the project. It also lists the skill on skills.sh.

npx skills add ananmouaz/file-issue # this project
npx skills add ananmouaz/file-issue -g # every project on the machine
npx skills add ananmouaz/file-issue -a claude-code # one agent only

Claude Code plugin

/plugin marketplace add ananmouaz/file-issue
/plugin install file-issue@file-issue

Claude Code, clone and link

For tighter version control than a plugin manager gives you:

git clone https://github.com/ananmouaz/file-issue.git ~/.local/share/file-issue && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && ln -sfn ~/.local/share/file-issue/skills/file-issue ~/.claude/skills/file-issue

Restart Claude Code. Then, inside any repo:

/file-issue add a dark mode toggle to settings

Claude Code lists skills once, when a session starts. Restart after the install or the skill does not appear.

Use from a phone

  1. In the Claude app, create a Project with the GitHub connector enabled.
  2. Paste skills/file-issue/SKILL.md into the Project instructions.
  3. Say file issue: <your idea>. Answer each numbered round. Say yes at the final "File it?" prompt.

Layout

  • skills/file-issue/SKILL.md — the skill.
  • skills/file-issue/references/ac-contract.md — the acceptance-criteria contract the interview enforces.
  • skills/file-issue/templates/agent-task.md — fallback issue template, used only when the repo has no agent template of its own.
  • .claude-plugin/ — plugin and marketplace manifests for Claude Code.

Pairs well with

  • say-less — short answers, shaped for a terminal.
  • shrike — forensic bug hunting on the PR the agent opens from this issue.
