capotej/getstartedcommunitylistedunreviewed

Set up

Skills are installed by placing their folder where your agent loads skills.

The download comes from github.com/capotej/getstarted itself, not from our server, so what you get is exactly what its author published.

Install instructions come from the README

Skills do not use an MCP config. Follow the steps in the README below.

getstarted

Generates project layouts from a template with a given set of skills.

Usage

Run getstarted in an empty directory with no arguments to start the interface.

uvx getstarted

How it works

This is an interactive tool designed to automate the creation of new projects using similar layouts.

There are two kinds of layouts: Projects and Skills

When the tool starts, it infers the name of the project from the current directory and asks the user to choose a layout to apply (single). After the layout is selected, the user can also select multiple skills to install. Once a layout and skill(s) are selected, the user confirms and the changes are applied.

Layout Format

Layouts are stored as single file txtar file, named after the layout type, layouts/projects/python.txtar would be the layout for python project, layouts/skills/uv.txtar for a uv skill.

txtar format

A txtar archive is zero or more comment lines and then a sequence of file entries. Each file entry begins with a file marker line of the form "-- FILENAME --" and is followed by zero or more file content lines making up the file data. The comment or file content ends at the next file marker line. The file marker line must begin with the three-byte sequence "-- " and end with the three-byte sequence " --", but the enclosed file name can be surrounding by additional white space, all of which is stripped.

If the txtar file is missing a trailing newline on the final line, parsers should consider a final newline to be present anyway.

There are no possible syntax errors in a txtar archive.

Editing txtar files

Use python -m txtar to write or update files within a txtar archive:

echo "file content" | python -m txtar --layout layouts/projects/python.txtar some_file.py

This reads content from stdin and writes it to the specified filename within the txtar archive.

To delete a file from a txtar archive:

python -m txtar --delete --layout layouts/projects/python.txtar some_file.py

Projects

Project layouts are stored in the layouts/projects directory.

Hooks

Hooks are scripts that run before and after a project layout is generated and are named after the layout: layouts/projects/python.before, layouts/projects/python.after

Skills

Skills are agent skills stored in the layouts/skills directory.

Testing

Run tests using pytest:

uv run pytest
