skill
parallel-by-default
A Claude Code skill that runs independent tasks and subagents in parallel instead of one by one
Set up
Skills are installed by placing their folder where your agent loads skills.
The download comes from github.com/Feli2arias/parallel-by-default itself, not from our server, so what you get is exactly what its author published.
Install instructions come from the README

A Claude Code skill that enforces parallel execution for independent tasks.
The Problem
Claude runs independent tasks one at a time.
Analyzing 4 files? Sequential. Running 3 searches? Sequential. Dispatching 5 subagents for unrelated work? Sequential. Every task waits for the previous one to finish — for no reason.
Before / After
Without parallel-by-default
Claude: Let me analyze auth.ts first...
[reads auth.ts]
Now I'll look at db.ts...
[reads db.ts]
Now checking api.ts...
[reads api.ts]
[3 turns to do what could be done in 1]
With parallel-by-default
Claude: [reads auth.ts, db.ts, and api.ts simultaneously in one turn]
Here's what I found across all three files...
Install
Personal install (available in every project):
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/parallel-by-default
curl -fsSL -o ~/.claude/skills/parallel-by-default/SKILL.md \
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Feli2arias/parallel-by-default/main/SKILL.md
Project install (shared with your team via the repo): run the same commands from the project root, replacing ~/.claude/skills with .claude/skills.
Start a new Claude Code session so the skill is picked up. Claude loads it automatically when the task matches its description, or you can invoke it manually with /parallel-by-default.
What It Enforces
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Check independence before executing multiple tasks | Forces conscious decision |
| Independent tasks run in parallel — no exceptions | Core rule |
| Sequential only when there's an explicit dependency | Clear, enforceable criteria |
| Multiple tool calls in a single response when possible | Concrete implementation |
| State which tasks are parallel and why | Transparency |
What It Doesn't Change
Correctness and ordering constraints are never compromised.
