A Claude Skill that asks 8 questions about your practice and your first project, then generates a complete Obsidian vault with folders, templates, dashboards, design system scaffolding, technical reference, sprint board, and a discovery framework — so you never start a Power BI engagement from scratch again.

How it works

  1. Answer 8 questions — practice type, first project, data stack, design system, deployment, governance
  2. Pick delivery mode — all-at-once or step-by-step (5 phases)
  3. Vault generated — practice-level + per-client + templates + reference
  4. Setup guide — Obsidian install, plugin setup, daily workflow
  5. Open vault in Obsidian — start your project immediately

Total time: 20 minutes start to finish.

Requirements

  • Claude.ai or Claude Code (free tier sufficient)
  • Obsidian (free, all platforms — obsidian.md)
  • Power BI Desktop (for the actual report building)
  • A folder on your computer
  • Optional companion: pbi-theme skill for production theme generation

Companion skill · pbi-theme

This skill pairs with pbi-theme — a production-grade Power BI theme generator. When you reach the Design System phase (Q5), if you provide brand colors, project-hub hands off to pbi-theme to generate:

  • Full 5,800-line Power BI theme JSON (importable)
  • Branded SVG canvas background with your client's logo
  • A4 design system PDF (shareable with client)
  • CSS design tokens (for HTML visuals in Power BI)
  • DAX HTML visual examples using your brand palette

Outputs land directly in Clients/{name}/02_Design_System/. Install both skills for the complete workflow.

If you don't have colors yet, project-hub creates a _PENDING.md placeholder with discovery questions — come back to run pbi-theme manually once the info arrives. No blocking.
