QGIS-OC-CHAT is a QGIS plugin and sidecar prototype for OpenCode-backed GIS workflows.
It is the companion project to MCP-QGIS:
MCP-QGISprovides the MCP/QGIS bridge and tool surface.QGIS-OC-CHATexplores a chat/plugin workflow with OpenCode-style planning, human-in-the-loop confirmation, RAG context, and safe GIS tool execution.
This repository is intended as supporting evidence for an OpenCode/Codex-style OSS workflow. The primary flagship repository for the OpenAI application package is OpenCut OpenCode Copilot.

Current Status
This is an MVP/RC-stage companion project. It is useful for reviewing the architecture and tests, but it should not be presented as a mature QGIS plugin.
Release archives are not committed as source files. They should be built locally or attached to GitHub Releases.
Quickstart
Build local artifacts:
bash scripts/build_plugin.sh
bash scripts/build_sidecar.sh
bash scripts/package_release.sh
Run smoke install:
bash scripts/smoke_install.sh
Run tests:
python -m pytest
Relationship To MCP-QGIS
Use MCP-QGIS when you need the clean MCP server/tooling story. Use QGIS-OC-CHAT when you want to inspect how a chat panel, sidecar, action plan, confirmation flow, and QGIS tool execution can be wired together.
Safety Notes
The project is designed around human-in-the-loop confirmation and rollback-oriented execution. Do not run it on private or production GIS data without reviewing the action plan and snapshot behavior first.
